Letter to Team Captains

Dear Team Captain,

WE RELAY UNTIL A CURE IS FOUND!

We thank you for your interest in becoming a team captain for the Third Annual Second Life Relay For Life! You have chosen to play a very active and important role in this special event. Teams are the spirit of Relay For Life!

Why do we relay?

The staggering fact is that this year about 559,650 Americans alone, not counting our brothers and sisters around the world, are expected to die of cancer, more than 1,500 people a day! THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. And the American Cancer Society is poised and ready to fight those numbers, in AMERICA and around the world, until we’ve cured this terrible disease, but the battle cannot even begin without your help.

But Relay For Life isn’t just about raising money. It’s also about bringing people together and building strong relationships, and some of those dear people will contract or already have cancer. Think about those relationships when you plan your events , and Relay as if every ounce of effort you put into it gives your loved ones another day to live. That’s the kind of impact you actually are having. That’s the kind of effort that will lead us to the cure!

Your role as a Team Captain is to engage your team and to keep them motivated and focused on success. To that end, Fay and I are compiling some materials to help you get started. Please have a look and let us know if you have any questions about anything. We’re here to help you.

Again, thank you so much for being involved in the greatest community project to hit Second Life, and here’s to another successful Relay in 2007!

Your event co-chairs,
Jade Lily & Fayandria Foley <3

I have sent this Note Card to each of my Team members. It may be helpful to new members and captains

I suggest you make a group that includes your team members and supporters. You can use Notices and attach items to keep everyone up to date.
