Kintera (US$ Donations) is a website that the American Cancer Society uses to allow team members to collect donations over the internet. I have created a site here for the SL Relay For Life, and we will use it to collect any US$ donations. The site is at

Team Captains: How to Set Up Your Team’s Kintera Page

Every team gets their own site within the event site, and every team member gets their own individual page within their team’s site so that we can track who collected what money.

To set up your team’s page, team captains should follow these steps:

  1. Visit
  2. Click the “Sign Up” link with the star above it.
  3. Click “I agree” if you agree with the rules.
  4. Select “Start a Team.”
  5. On the next page, select “Start a Team” and “Independent Team.” Fill out your team name and any goals. Click Continue.
  6. On the next page, you’ll fill out your individual information. Use your avatar name and only fill in your address if you want to buy a Relay t-shirt.
  7. Fill in credit card info if you chose to buy a t-shirt.

Once you’re registered and your team’s page is set up, you can invite your team members to register by following these instructions:

  • Visit
  • Click the “Sign Up” link with the star above it.
  • Click “I agree” if you agree with the rules.
  • Select “Join a Team.”
  • Click “Show All.”
  • Find your team and click “Join Team.”
  • Fill out your personal info and click “Continue.”

That’s it! Now you’re ready to collect US$ donations.

How to Collect US$ Donations

The easiest way to do this is to send people your personal or team web page link that you set up during the registration process. From there, they can make a donation to your team or to you directly, which will still be credited to your team.
